Bruce of MMA Confidential came to Renzo Gracie Academy today to film our MMA class and interview Daniel Gracie. It was a great class with really tough sparring. The students are all learning how to put it all together! Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Wrestling and Muay Thai. Great job everybody. Be sure to check out MMA Confidential for the show!

For our regulars who come to the 12:30 MMA class, we had a real tough one... Marcio of Gracie Sports in Norwalk came to our academy to do a Ginastica Natural warm up. After the warm up, we trained take down control on the wall and then we did a full take down training. Next it was onto G and P - Jiu-Jitsu with strikes. And then (oh, you thought it was over? guess again) we did an extra special training of throwing the bag, sprawls and burpees. Sound good? You know it. Every student is training at their pace and is excelling! Be sure to be in class Thursday to learn more about Ginastica Natural. By the way, we'll have a very special guest on Thursday. Make sure your wear your best gear because you never know who might filming!!!

This week we'll be upping the intensity. It's hot outside and the tatame is going to be hotter. The classes will be focused on having good balance to pass the guard. This is very important because passing the guard is timing and if you don't have a strong base you won't have time to think how to pass.
